Summer with Mother

Today I went to the beach with a friend and we ate ice cream flurries, walked in the water and swung on the swings while watching the sunset. There was an older woman parked in front of our car that got out and set up a lawn chair to sit and read her book. It was beautiful and peaceful and brought back vivid memories of the many times my mother took us to the beach and sat in her lawn-chair while us kids enjoyed the beach and swings. What a comforting feeling to remember mother and her desire to let us kids enjoy the beach even though she had a fear of the water since her childhood. Her older brother threw her in and she almost drowned, never forgetting the terror of it. Too bad people have to do this to others, but it did not stop her from letting us enjoy every beautiful moment of the beach. Bless you mom~~
